Year 5 - Beech and Aspen
Good Morning Beech Class!
Here is your work for today - Friday 23rd October 2020
Read chapter 16 and 17 of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Record any words that are familiar and look these up at the end of the chapter.
Think about these questions as you read:
· What do you think will happen at the end of the story?
· Did you enjoy the story? Think about why this is.
· What was your favourite part of the story?
Complete the book review sheet (you can do this on paper). The title of the story is: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The author is: C.S. Lewis. You need to shade the number of stars for how much you enjoyed the story, write about your favourite part and why and then draw a picture of your favourite scene.
Today you are going to have a go at the statistics end of topic test, which is based on everything you have done on pictograms, bar charts, line graphs, tables and timetables. Take as long as you need on this test and then mark it using the answers. Note down your score.
You have been studying still life this term. With a parent/ carer’s permission, gather a few objects from around your house (it might be some fruit and a vase) and arrange them in front of you. Using a pencil, sketch this still life arrangement. Think about the techniques you have learnt about to make your drawing look 3D (line making, tone- using light and dark).
If you have to be at home because you are isolating - the National Academy is still providing lots of fun and interesting online lessons.
