UFO Crashes into Mayfield playground at the start of Book Week

We returned to school today to find  a mysterious spaceship in the playground. Lights were still flashing and a hissing noise was emanating from the back with waves of mist appearing at regular intervals.

The community police visited and cordoned the area off and made sure we were all safe.  Mr Foote, a local resident came to talk to Year 1 and 2 about what he witnessed! 

Later in the day every class inspected the area around the crash site to look for clues.

Some children thought they saw signs of alien life!

Coincidentally the theme of our Book week is Space and we were very excited to welcome poet James Carpenter into school to help us with our creative writing...
